“Following on from the earlier thread about black levels I thought I’d produce a matrix of exactly what each HDR mode does and how well it performs for either an SDR, HDR or DV display.
To keep it simple:
Green means it’s all good
Amber means some colour conversion issues, but black levels are fine
Red means raised black levelsThere were some unexpected results denoted by the asterisks where the HDR mode wasn’t as expected.
I don’t think there is any point expecting improvements in Realtek HDR to SDR since that issue has been with us since the Realtek 1295, but I really hope that one day soon these black level issues are fixed for VS10 because that would make this box utterly flexible for any display.”
